Chemical Sciences Division faculty scientist Jennifer Bergner has been named to Scientific American’s inaugural Young American Scientists list, recognizing 28 early-career researchers whose work is helping shape the future of science and society.
Bergner’s research explores some of astronomy’s biggest questions, including how planets form and how the chemical ingredients for life emerge. Her astrochemistry laboratory studies reactions under the extreme cold and near-vacuum conditions of interstellar space, using chemistry to explain unusual phenomena across the universe.
